First introduced as a prototype at the 1966 Geneva Motor show, the 1968 Lamborghini Miura is a definitive legacy supercar in every sense of the word. It was this mid-engine V-12 supercar which laid the cornerstones for other Lamborghini greats such as the Diablo and Countach.

2. Lamborghini Countach 5000QV
Although the Miura had been what started it all, what made the mark was the infamous Lamborghini Countach. After a lot of experimentation and models, in 1985, the Countach 5000QV was born. The engine was improved, and the displacement was increased to 5.2 liters.
A total of 4 valves per cylinder were added, hence the name QV (Quattro Valvole meaning 4 valves). However, Kevlar incorporated into the body, wide tires, outrages lines, and other aesthetics is what made this car stand out from the others at the time.

3. 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is a lighter weight version of its previous model. It features a V10 rear engine that reaches an amazing 530bhp at 8,000 rpm. The engine was more efficient and that together with better electronic control, allowed that outrageous horsepower figure to be reached.
The original Lamborghini Gallardo was already light weight (at 1430kg), but the Superleggera took it down by 70kg. The car is absolutely littered with polycarbonate and carbon fiber, including the engine, hood, rear diffuser, and door panels. This allows for greater speed and weight reduction. Ah, the Lamborghini Aventador. It’s mean, it’s lean, and it’s a wonder of engineering. From the purposefully offset V-12 engine to counter balance the driveshaft, to the number of panels and vents that open up upon meeting specific conditions, this car has features to leave you speechless.
The engine is a 6.5L V-12 that churns out 691 horsepower and is surprisingly fuel efficient for a supercar. It gives 11/17 mpg for the city/ highway which translates to a combined average that is 2mpg better than its predecessor, the Murciélago.
